Hey it's me Alli! Sorry that it has taken me awhile to blog. I've been without a computer for the last month and a half. Well let me catch everyone up on the news.
For starters, WE'RE HAVING A BLIZZARD!!!! And I'm at work!!! What the hell is up with that? Damn Coloradans think just because there is a foot of snow on the ground with 12 more inches coming that everything is hunky dory. I swear I'm still a true Texan at heart. I HATE snow!
Well onto something else. I just switched jobs recently. I am now working for the City of Denver with the Department of Human Services as a caseworker with the Family and Adult Division. Sounds like a crappy job, but it's actually pretty fun and interesting. The benefits ROCK!!! And the pay is definately good too! I just got my computer access on Friday, so I'm trying to catch up with everthing going on.
Chad is coming on the 23rd if the weather cooperates. He'll be here for a week and I am so excited. I've missed him so much. It's been two years since I've seen him. Now Aidan will get to play with his uncle and so will Alex. We're planning on having a little dinner on Christmas day. Nothing too big.
We had a good Thanksgiving. It was just Jorge, the kids, his dad, and brother, and I. We had the most random things to eat. I cooked a ham, my version of sweet potatoes, and homemade wheat rolls. Then we had mexican rice, pot of pinto beans, ribs (it was so nice outside we were able to fire up the grill), hot links, thin pieces of marinated steak, deep fried tilapia, BBQ chicken (for me) and to top it all off for dessert we had Arroz con leche or Rice Pudding. Needless to say we had a ton of left overs which I gladly dished out to my friends, but it was such a weird combination of food. I guess we're starting our own traditions.
I got all my Christmas shopping done last weekend (yes I was a procrastinator). Aidan's getting a cowboy hat which I know he's going to go crazy for. Mark, you would be proud! Alexander's getting a huge bouncy car. Of course there's all the other fun stuff as well.
I just want everyone to know that I miss you all so dearly. Everyone's lives seem to be changing like crazy and I feel like I'm looking at it through a store window. I'm hoping this year I will be able to make it down there to see you guys. I swear that I will take pictures at Christmas of all of us and send them to you guys, specially you Blair. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe one too. Many blessings for the coming year! Eat lots of food, open lots of presents, but remember to be thankful for all the special moments and not the materialistic things.
Love Alli!
OH......what I would do with a million dollars? I would buy my parents a new headstone, pay off everything, buy a house (in Texas of course), set my kids up for the future, catch a plane to GA and buy my brother a car, put some in savings, and the rest I would anonymously give out to people (mainly single mothers or kids whose parents have cancer).
