Hello again family! Had a very fast trip to Denver. The trip brought back alot of memories, even though most of the layout of Aurora, CO is very different than when we lived there. Fitzsimmons Army Hospital, where Cameron was born, has been torn down and no longer exists. The Air Force base where we purchased groceries, no longer exists. Stapleton Airport, no longer exists. Freeways have taken over the very narrow narrow traveling lanes that we used to drive on. We did remember street names though! Several of the wedding activities were in the Aurora area. We flew in on a 757 and returned on a 737. Both flights were smooth and we had no problem with the actual flight. The only glitch was Jerry's luggage did not make the cut off for weight on our flight. He did not get his bag delivered to our motel until 10:30pm on Friday night. On Friday Alli, Jorge and boys met us at the motel, as we had a rental car to get us bake and forth to and from activities. Little Alexander is very out going and somewhat mischeivous. He will run off and look at his parents and grin and expect them to run after him. Aiden was very reserve and hid his face most of the time on Jorge's shoulder. We tried to not over power him upon our initial meeting. We visited only a short time and checked into our rooms and readied for the evening meeting. Aunts and Uncles went shopping at Target to purchase both kids a toy and gift certificates for baptism and wedding. At 7:00 pm we met at Alli's friend's house and had a potluck meal with Alli's bridesmaids, Crosbyton folks, Alli's friends. Aiden accepted us upon receiving the toys and became more out-going and comfortable with us. Just like all kids! The next day was the baptism which was in English and Spanish. We got our first visit of the trip with Chad at the service. Great to see him looking good and sporting a beard. A noon meal followed at Alli's house which was cooked by Jorge's mother and sister. It tasted great! Tress and I helped Alli with putting together the long stemmed roses for her bridesmaids and completed the ribbon on the groomsmen's & preparing roses for the wedding cake. We then dressed and left around 3:45 to go to the Holiday Inn where the wedding was held. When we got there Alli was running out of time and Jorge had forgotten to get the cake stand that the wedding cake was to be placed on. Therefore, Tress and Mark and I tiered the 3 layers of cake. Tress, Chad & I then started to place red roses around each layer of cake and drape others on the side and up to the top of the cake. We added a little greenery and some babie's breath. It turned out to be very pretty. I am glad that Alli indicated that it was what she had pictured in her mind. It was the first red wedding cake that I have ever seen, but it was absolutely beautiful!!! We finished up by scattering rose petals around on tables and placing candy in the center of the table. The wedding, meal and dance followed. We sincerely tired when we left for the motel, but had a very good time!!! The next morning it was off to the airport and return to Houston. The four of us stopped in the Woodlands and ate at Sweet Tomatoes. Hope to see Alli & family & Chad very soon. By the way, Chad has settled in Oregon and is not only working in computor graphics, but plays in 3 bands. In one band, he plays guitar, another drums, and another piano which he taught himself to play. A busy young man! Love to all the family! Sheron
