Hi family!
I'm just relaxing in the recliner (feet up- Stevie at my side. Well actually Stevie's pushing me to scoot over, I'm in her chair, uhuh?) Nothing much going on here, seems pretty quiet after all of you with me last weekend. It's after times like when I catch myself getting homesick for all your faces, giggles, and yes, even those occasional sneaky squeekers, LOL!
Decided this morning that I needed a pedi/mani and went to get that done - LOVE THOSE MASSAGE CHAIRS! You know the ones, feet in the pedicure pool, chair on knead- then rolling motion on the lumbar! Gotta love it! Sometimes, I could care less what the paint on the toes looks like- but give me one of those chairs in the living room and I wouldn't even unwind to go to work! Well, maybe it's a good thing those chairs aren't sold to the general public - I'd never want to leave the house.
Yesterday, Mark and I went to play golf out at Bluebonnet. We realized that it had been more years than I'd like to count since I'd actually had a chance to play. Not much has changed - I still do a good job staying right on the fairway with the tee shot, but my putting sucks! We played best ball and then I just whimped out after 9. It was getting later in the day and energy just went P-L-U-N-K ! So I drove the new golf cart really fast for Mark as he finished up the back 9. That was soooooo fun! I kept getting the image in my mind from the movie, Caddy Shack, where the golf carts are spinning flat out straight down the fairway and a quick right to the sliced ball! Hahahahahah! Oh well, it's a nice course and not many people pushing you or grousing 'cause you want to take that mulligan now. I enjoyed smelling the pine trees and just getting outside. Golf relaxes me that way - but I'm not the most competitive golfer. I could really care less how many shots it takes me. Hmmmmmmm, Jerry guess you're going to have to work on me there, huh?
Betsy & Jared - it's so much fun watching the tummy bounce around when your baby starts doing gymnastics. I totally agree, my kids always wanted to dance, do gymnastics, or race cars whenever I was ready to sleep! I remember one time with Meredith - it was sooooo cold outside and I'd just cuddled - or as best as I could at that time, big tummy and all to snuggle up to Mark to get warm. When all of a sudden, she just seemed to draw back both arms and legs and waylaid him! Even then, she was saying, "Move over - I'm too hot!" We laughed so hard! She let us know really quickly that she was going to be VERY INDEPENDENT! Devin used to go nuts whenever reruns for Star Treck started - around midnight! What's really weird is that when he was around 8 months old- he's sit in my lap to watch Star Treck and make the sound the space craft makes when it swishes by- Ssssswwoooshe! Too funny! I think he could hardly wait to be born to see what that TV show was? But I do have a question for you- I read your blog all the time, isn't it a diary for your baby from mommie? Is it OK to add thoughts there from Great-Aunties? I just didn't know if that would be OK or not and didn't want to ruin it if it were intended as a diary to present later to your baby.
Well hope all of you are doing well and we'll chat later tonight.
See you then,
Tress
