Hi all you guys!
My blogging has been a bit slow recently as I've been a road warrior. . . CRAZY, weird stuff and such is life, right? Yesterday was in New Orleans meeting with some of my accounts for training staff and such. Normally, the folks in New Orleans are truly laid back compared to Texans and yesterday it was even more so! I forgot it was the beginning of Mardi Gras and had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA that there would be 4 parades that I would run into across the parishes.

The first 3 parades slowed me down, but I was able to make it around and continue onward to my destination. But that last parade, (after dark- of course) stopped me and all the traffic headed toward the airport dead in our tracks. Since I've traveled for so many years, I just thought, "OK, nothing to worry about. I'll just catch the next flight home." Parade ended, took car back to rental location, hitched the shuttle to airport, walked into terminal and there was NO ONE at the Continental Airlines desks. Ok so this is weird? So, called the customer service line on my cell phone to see what I could do and found that they were closed because there were no more flights to Houston after 6:30 p.m! GREAT! Asked about getting another carrier and found that nothing would be flying to Intercontinental in Houston until 5 a.m. next morning.

So here are my choices: 1). try to find a hotel during Mardi Gras with shuttle service to airport, LOL, 2). sleep in airport, Not my favorite option, 3). or call my sweetie to pick me up at Hobby & take the Southwest flight leaving within the next 2 hours. If you picked option 3- You're the big winner! He even drove me to IAH on Tues. morning to get my truck so I could continue on my way with the meetings in Sugarland and Houston. Am I lucky or what? Fortunately, Mark is home this week and was able to help me out. I really wasn't relishing the idea of sleeping in the terminal!

Glad to hear everyone is feeling better! Enjoyed power shopping with Sheron and Jerry last week. . . really funny seeing us grab something from the racks and saying, "this would look good on you! Sister shopping is really fun- only sisters tell you the truth about what something looks like. If it doesn't look good - sisters tell you, If it looks great- sisters tell you! No need for that political correctness crap, LOL!

More later and love to all,
Tress
