Good morning all!

Saturday morning and just watching my baby dogs play their favorite game of "dip, dodge, duck, dive roll and chase." They do this every morning with lots of flashing teeth and play growls. It's funny to watch and almost like this ritual helps them get ready for the day. Well that and their special half slice of bread with breakfast. Do you think they're SPOILED? Most definitely!

In fact, they went with us to John's graduation - well we had planned for them to stay at the hotel while we went to the graduation, luncheon and tour of the LBJ library. The hotel kinda changed our minds for us. . . . they wouldn't allow a late check-out. . . even with paying the extra day. Seems that they already had a full house for Saturday night! Well that spoiled our plans for the luncheon and tour, because we won't leave the girls in the car alone. We made that mistake when Meredith came home from California on her birthday her first year away.

Scarlet (our granddog) LOL, was in here kennel in the car, while we went inside a restaurant to eat. We could see the car as it was parked right in the front and we were eating outside to be sure all was well. Still, our car was broken into and Meredith's luggage stolen - all with Scarlet in the kennel on the backseat! Things like luggage and car doors can be fixed, but a family member being stolen is something else entirely! How easy would it be to grab that kennel by the handles (lets make this as easy as possible for the culprit). Luckily, Scarlet was unscathed and still in the car. She has a ferocious bark and growl for a little dog- so maybe they just weren't sure just how big she might be, huh? Anyway, to make a long story even longer, (LOL), we don't leave our babies in the car, EVER! I know this may sound pretty stupid to most, but stolen dogs around south Texas is a big market.

Back to my original thoughts about John's graduation. . . . it was really beautiful! Very nice speaker, an alumni who graduated 54 years ago. She'd owned a pharmacy in Bryan with her sister and had some great insights into being flexible and always a life-long student of change. I think these are wise words for any field or career choice. See I did truly listen! Now the Dean's ending words were a bit longer and I tended to drift. He began to sound a bit like Charlie Brown's school teacher, "wawa, wawawawawawawa". One can alway recognize the Dean by the number of words they use, LOL! But honestly John, we are very proud of your accomplishments and know that your future is bright. With all the wise words from your professors and the dean, mine will be very short . . Follow your heart, because that's how God leads. We tend to try to worry and plan, plan, plan . . . but really God's got your back! Don't be afraid to follow even when it seems intellectually crazy. There is a path God has in mind for you and the journey is unbelievable!

Love,
Tressie
