Oh Blair?
I just want you to know that the Humane Society is around here every weekend with adoption pups. Also, on the Walmart, Exxon corner - just yesterday (mini schnauzers, long haired chihuahas, yorkies, mini docshaunds, german shephards) Its a varitable schmorgasbord of pups! Of course all from the corner come with a smart price-tag. They come from all over just to be on those corners every weekend! I have to literally turn my head away or my car will magically pull over by itself and I'll find myself bringing home another one. Meredith & Mark always say, "look away, look away - we or you don't need another one." Devin is as bad as I am, he would have a house full of puppies if he could. He told me that when he moves into his apartment, he has decided that he either wants a blue-heeler, or a husky with blue eyes. He's always loved corgis too. OK, so I know I'll have another granddog soon! That's OK, the more the merrier!
When you, Jay, & Eletia get back from Peg's you'll have to plan a weekend to come visit with me? Actually, plan a long weekend where we can play on Friday too! There are lots of places to visit close by- winery, antique shops, roadside produce-plant stands. We could go into Houston if you like to any of the museums, or Harwin street for all the really cheap prices- (this was where the Vietnamese originally set up their stores and vendor-carts after they were relocated to Houston during the Vietnam war). Now the stores are really nice and you can find everything from clothes to trinkets, perfume & household goods and supplies at WOW prices. There are shopping streets like this in Dallas- close to the airport- but this area is truly upscale looking without the upscale prices. You have to admire what these folks have done- think Sam Moon but store, after store, after store. Definitely worth the trip. I can check out the music venue in The Woodlands. Always great concerts in the summertime! We can take our lawnchairs and sit under the stars listening to wonderful concerts like, Tim McGraw (Dev went to this one). And of course fishing is always on the schedule. Sound good?
OK, I've almost written a book, so as Mark would say, "See me later, by!"
Love,
Tress
