Hi everybody,
No problem Blair, we just thought of you first since you had talked about adopting a while ago. Meredith & Michael got Isabel adopted today to a really nice couple. Sounds like it was love at first site at the dog park. Anyway, I'll let her tell you more about that later.
I got up this morning, went to work out and stopped off on the way home to volunteer to work the weekend shelter out here at the lake. The Montgomery animal shelter brings cats/dogs out here on Sat./Sun. from 10-3 p.m. and they are in need of help with play time, walking etc. . . So I volunteered to help out some when I can. Since, we've been blessed with 2 rescue babies in my house, and 2 at Meredith's, that's about all I can personally handle. But you know, I can certainly help people find the right baby for their households and learn the dogs behavior's, walk them, and help those that are people shy- get over that so they can be adopted into a nice home.
This morning, a family came by wanting to adopt a little dog or a pup for their daughter (6 yrs.) who's been afraid of animals her entire life. Her parents really don't know why. The dogs weren't there yet when I was there, (late for some reason) but I talked with the little girl about how much love a dog gives and that a dog could be her very best friend. She liked that idea. . . seems like she and her parents would like for her to get over this fear. After that, a lady came by with a tiny yorkie that she had found on the roadside- bleeding and hurt. The lady who owns the building where the shelter is located- ran the dog to a local vet to find that she hadn't been hit by a car - she had a puncture wound in her hip and had been seriously beaten then dumped by the road. I'll never understand how anyone can treat another living being that way? I guess I'm going to have to toughen up on that score!
Caden, Happy Birthday kiddo! Your a big 5, WOW I can't believe you're 5 years old and almost in school.
